I’ve spent months and followed every post and link I can find that might bring me success but try as I might, I cannot get LiveTV back to my main Plex server. It used to work fine then there was a version change about a year ago (I should look it up and edit this post) which killed the tuner. The fix was simple - restore an older version delete the tuner and start again. It didn’t work for me and I lost play history in the process. I’ve since looked at just about everything and hoped with each release it would start working (or I’d at least be able to clear something out).
I’ve deleted the media_provider_resources records in the database and it gets closer but I either get an error that the DVR exists or a strange error which in the logs looks like it can’t copy a file in to the databases directory. I’ve tried and I can copy the file manually and the rights are all correct. If I change my appdata directory and start afresh it works perfectly but I have 1500 movies and 176 TV shows as well as a couple of terabytes of photos and I don’t really want to reindex everything and lose all the play history.
I’m happy to do most things - although inserting the records from the working media_provider_resources table into my live database didn’t get me very far - but I guess i’m just appealing for help!!
Selfishly, if someone (Plex?) can help me I’d be very grateful - I’m already a huge fan. Unselfishly, it would be great to add some nuanced resets for different pieces of functionality - I’m sure that it would help people. I’ve seen plenty of people with the same issue but they tend to just give up and start from scratch.
