Since the latest update to plex server (windows 2019) I have lost my DVR and its now asking me to set up DVR. When i try and set it up then it isnt finding my HDHomerun tuners or my xteve/TellyTV virtual tuners.
This appears to be being caused by stale data stored in a table for Media resources. Running an SQL Query to delete the data from the table resolved the issue so for anyone else experiencing this problem follow this quick guide:
- Stop Plex Server
- Open SQLite DB Browser
- Open C:\Users%username%\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Plug-in Support\Databases\com.plexapp.plugins.library
- search for Media_provider_resources, right click and choose Browse Table
- Click on the Execute SQL tab and paste the following into the top left box
- Delete from Media_provider_resources
- Click on the play button
- You should get a success response in the bottom left box
- Click close database and then exit SQLite DB Browser
- Start Plex Server
- go to Settings → Live TV & DVR
- Click Setup and you should now see your tuners
