Wonderful Remote Access has started working again according to my Plex Server, but it has not really started working

Remote Access has been turned on again on my Plex Server, very pleased that the server has re-enabled it. Though as usual in a few days time, Plex will disable it again for a few weeks, and then the happy times when it is enabled for a few days.

I am not making any changes to the firewall on my PC or my Router when this happens, it appears to be by happenstance, and then Plex says no you are not going to work for a couple of weeks.

Please can some Dev effort be put into resolving this issue, it being randomly turned on or off in Plex with no external changes, does point to it being an issue with Plex checking that Remote Access is available and getting it right some times and wrong at other times.

It worked for 1 hour today, then turned itself off, retrying made it work again as of now.

However the real problem is that Plex states that it is Fully accessible outside your network, with a nice green tick. But when I try and connect from outside my network it does not work.

Are you using your own equipment as far as a cable modem and router or from your ISP? My friend had issues like you with Cox communications using their equipment which has limitations and not much user options. Once he got his own router and modem, hasn’t had anymore issues.

Yes, I am using my own equipment.

The Plex fairies seem to be working for me today :grinning:, nearly 1 whole day with Remote Access working (no changes at all to the router or the server to make it work), but like Cinderella expect it will not work tomorrow after midnight :cry:

Nothing yet on my end. Remote access still broken :frowning: plex needs to work on this issue!
