Server Version#: Version 1.41.3.9314
Player Version#: Issue with Roku and Android 15 phone (pixel 8 pro)
Strange issue that I can’t wrap my head around. A couple of my users reported being unable to play certain shows from my server. This morning, I did some testing on my own.
I can play the file on my AndroidTV (Sony Bravia), on web browser, and on my Android phone on LTE. But when my phone is on wifi, I get an error “An error occurred while attempting to play this video check the connection and try again.”
The wifi connection is fine, and I can stream 1080p movies from my server with no problem. I thought perhaps there’s a permissions issue, but they all look OK to me.
Files that won’t play are 720p or 1080p mkv with eac3 audio. The only noteworthy thing I see is that the video profile for the files that won’t play are “high.” But I don’t understand how that would matter between my Pixel 8 Pro connected to wifi vs LTE.
I thought that it might be the EAC3 with Atmos metadata, but again that wouldn’t explain the wifi vs LTE issue. And both files appear to have identical audio formats.
