in my personal photo timeline the videos are not sorted right.
The videos are not marked as videos (with the play in the upper corner), the date ist 1/1/1900 (but not in that order by date, but e.g. between 24/12/2017 and 23/12/2017).
Partly i reencoded the videos from the camera to save space, but it also occures with the videos by smartphone.
Any idea how to change that? What date is used by plex to recognise the date the video was taken?

If you re-encoded the files and the embedded metadata wasn’t copied over to the new file then the file would no longer have the original date info.
Depending on how you get the videos from your phone to your Plex server could also result in metadata being stripped out. Using Camera Upload from the mobile Plex apps will make sure the original dates are kept intact.
Thanks for your feedback. To save the original file attributes i used “touch”, but it was not enough to do the trick…
In the meantime I tried a little bit by myself:
Using the last plex media server this week and readding the complete photo library did the trick.
However in the android plex app the videos are not marked as video, in the web app everything is ok…
