Hi, on some files, all from the same source, ps3 shows the video with a 4:3 ratio instead of 16:10-16:9.
On the web player, they play normally.
I’ve run mkvinfo on those files and they show the same result :
The pixels in the video are not square. It looks like they are HDV/HDCAM (1.3) ratio.
there can be a number of reasons why the file is not displayed correctly and it can be plex’s fault or PS3’s fault. It depends witch player is used and how the info is read and feed to the player.
To be safe no matter what, you could encode the files using square pixels. Might not be the best solution if you have loads of files like that.
Another solution might be to use a different codec and container. I can’t give you the exact answer here. You will have to research further for that.
