Noticed on the listings that the wrong image was displayed for a TV show. All other meta data was correct: season and episode number, description, air date, etc. The image was for a different series with the same name. The image was for the new Matlock show with Kathy Bates, but the episode was from the old Matlock series starring Andy Griffith. I know there are other examples of different shows with the same name: MacGyver, Knight Rider, and Magnum PI are just a few that come to mind (apparently TV studios want recreate the ‘80s). Is there anything in place to determine which image should be shown when multiple series exist with the same name?
Is your folder structure exactly like this?
\Matlock {tvdb-73064}\Season 01\Matlock - S01E01 - The Judge
This pulls everything correctly for me, with the Scanner set to “Plex TV Series” and the Agent set to “Plex Scanner.”
I don’t have any Matlock episodes on my server. It was for listings of live/broadcast TV. I’ve added an HDHomeRun to the “Live TV & DVR” section of Plex. The episode I noticed this on was S6E15, From February of 1992. The year and season number both are obviously incorrect for the new Matlock. I was just surprised the channel guide listings showed the wrong image.
Live TV & DVR meta data comes from Plex’s EPG and is different from using TMDB or TVDB. It is provided from the station to Gracenote to the Plex EPG. Usually you have to watch the epg for when it gets updated to the correct image and drop and re-create the scheduled recording but your case if you are going to keep the episode just do a fix match on it.
