X265 HEVC 10Bit jagged playback on Sony android tv & Apple TV 4k

Experiencing an issue with playback on 2x Sony android TVS. The local network TV is 2015 Top end Sony Android & the other is a shared users 2018 Sony OLED outside my network. We have both played the same new x265 HEVC 10bit 5.1aac files and both of them have a jagged playback in video. Very unwatchable… the sound is fine but no luck with video. Have played around with the h264 settings with no joy. Played the exact same file on Apple TV 4K Plex system and works flawlessly. Appears to be a problem with android tv. Seen a couple other posts with users experiencing the same performance on android phones. Has any body else experienced this?

EDIT: Apple TV 4K has playback issues when enhanced player is turned OFF. Jagged playback. A lot worse than Android

Hi @H1dd3N420, sorry to hear you’re having problems with the app. Is there any chance you could prove information about app and server version, along with app logs? That would help us to identify any possible issue.

Thanks in advance

Thank you, i just sent you a txt doc with the log from Android TV & one for the Apple TV

Thanks for the logs. Sorry I should have said that before, but is there any chance you could prove a sample of the video you’re experiencing problems with? That will help us to reproduce it in our end.
Thanks in advance

Video sent, thanks

Same here, never experienced this before. I’ve made a seperate thread for Apple TV. Can you post your probs with the Apple TV there and your android TV ones here. Just so the correct Plex App developers are getting the right info…

See this link for the Apple devices

Any luck as yet?

Sorry we are still investigating the issue. I’ll update this thread when we have more information.
