XB1 app doesn't recognize movie chapters?

Howdy folks - I tried Plex for about the 4th time this week. I think it’s finally at the point where I can replace my AppleTV with it. One less device! Thank you Xbox One.

Anyway, it’s not perfect, but getting there. The sole sorta deal breaker, though, is I don’t see how to display the chapters on my home movies. These were created in iMovie and FCPX. I noticed the iOS app recognizes them just fine.

I have 10+ years of home movies, most are 45 minutes to 2 hours, and have anywhere from 10 to 30 chapters. I’m really bummed, as this is one reason we loved the Apple TV, we could quickly find a movie and see the chapter we wanted to view. I don’t see that this is possible on my Xbox One app.

Or am I overlooking it?

Anyone? Bumpity bump?

the xb1 app does not show the chapters in the UI but should be able to step through them hitting the forward button

Future enhancement? Or too fringe to deal with? Thanks for the reply.

not too fringe. XB1 just has very different code base and has different hurdles to get thing done. I don’t want to make any promises about timelines but it is something we want to bring to XB1 as well

since the update, my xbox one refuses to direct play any mkv WITH chapters in it. It also won’t display srt subtitles. C’mon, it’s 2016. This has to be the worst media player ever.

@PippoInzaghi You say a transcode is triggered when you try to direct play an mkv with chapters? Could you post server logs of you trying to direct play this file?
