I’ve been using plex on my 360 for a few weeks now. Yesterday I started getting a message saying “Sorry, the Plex service isn’t available right nw. Please try again later. For more information, go to www.xbox.com/status”. Visiting the Xbox site and looking specifically at the Plex app, says it should be “up and running”
What gives?
I am currently frustrated by the same issue (it's my reason for coming to the forums today). The Xbox 360 app is my primary Plex interface, and it's quite frustrating to my family to lose access to it. (I'm a bit more patient.) :) Of course, I know that it is in beta, so there are some bumps to be expected, but I really want the access I've had back (we've been spoiled by a relatively bump free Xbox 360 experience so far).
Same issue. Since about 5:00 pm MST yesterday I have not been able to sign-in into the app. I tried working with Xbox support on Twitter but they seem just as clueless as I am regarding the issue.
I'm having the same issue as well. I spoke with Xbox tech support and was told it was a glitch on my system. I started receiving the message yesterday as well so it's obviously not a local glitch. I hope this get fixed soon.

Just weighing in to say same here. Started yesterday I think.
Also, you can still watch videos through xbox by going to "System Video Player" and selecting the plex server that way. Its not as pretty and lacks features, but it works while they get this worked out.
This is killing us… Can use the system video player as suggested above but when trying to play HD videos the transcoding via system player seems to crash server where Plex app never did…
Do think this is a slight design flaw (possibly due to Xbox limitations) but I should be able to access my local media server without an Internet connection/Xbox service running. Should only need Xbox live/internet access for access to external servers/extra features… I guess this has been done either due to limitations or simply to check Plex pass but still major design flaw.
They finally updated the status to limited. But you're right it is a design flaw most likely due to Microsoft/Xbox. I remember a couple of years ago I had a problem with Netflix app and Netflix couldn't help me because Xbox controlled the app itself.

At least I am not the only one. I just started trying to set this up and got that message, I have been analyzing my firewall logs and tcp dumps for 2 days thinking there was something wrong on my end :-(
I am also getting this same issue. Xbox 360 is my main Plex client and I would be grateful if Plex would acknowledge that it is being looked into.
Plex on Xbox 360 works for me again now.
But would be nice if I could use Plex on the 360 even if the Plex servers aren't available.
