Every time I start the xbox 360 app i get the error "There was a problem communicating with your server, please make sure it is connected". The two options it gives are retry and return. If i hit return I am able to browse for my libraries and watch my shows but every time I reboot it gives me the same error and I have to use the same workaround. This just started in the past 5 days and when I first set it up I had no problem. It would load the plex app home screen perfectly.
I am connected and mapped to port 32400. I have re-installed both the app and the server with no luck. All my other devices work fine (roku, android) I am not sure what else to do. My log file is attached.
i have a similar problem but it's not that i can't see the server. i can indeed see the server and all the metadata. i can navigate through it all.
my problem is i can't actually play anything! i try and play and sometimes a brief screen comes up showing the show's info, like 720p etc etc, and a subtitles on/off, but then it skips right over that to tell me that it can't connect to the server. very weird as i said because i can see full folder/file/metadata info. all files are correct format.
i have tried all ideas in other threads so far. i have logged in and out of everything and changed the "Update Channel" to PlexPass, i have deleted the files on Xbox as per the linked thread here. no luck
i am running server version Plex 9.11.7.803 from a ReadyNAS 104 to Xbox 360.
Same problem here, can browse libraries and play media but whenever I go to Plex Home I get “There was an error communicating with your Plex Media Server. Make sure it is turned on and accessible and try again.”
All other clients work fine, including Plex Web on the 360.
Same problem here. Every client works fine, Samsung, web, etc except for Xbox 360. I've resolved all the double Nat issues but 360 app still not connecting.
