I might buy an Xbox One soon, but I have a question regarding surround sound.
Does the Xbox One currently support dolby digital (not dolby digital+) via HDMI and/or optical? (I’ve heard it does via an update).
Since I have a Sonos 5.1 surround sound it does not work with DTS.
Will the Plex app play the Dolby Digital files I have in 5.1 via HDMI?, via optical?
Will it convert the DTS 5.1 files I have to Dolby Digital 5.1?
And a follow up:
Do anyone know if Netflix outputs 5.1 in dolby digital?

Xbox one will take either Dolby or Dts and simply output it as pcm which is 100% compatible with sonos
Oh and yes it will do this with netflix too
The Xbox One will not playback DTS via the Plex App. It can output DTS but there is no DTS Decoder released to 3rd Party apps so anything that is DTS needs to be transcoded to AC3 by the server before being sent to the App.

His question was about sonos specifically so I was being general.
