When I have my xBox One set to instant on…to do background updates to the console. The Plex app on the dashboard says resume. When I try to select it. It gives me a PIN number, and a url addy to reconnect to my account. This works, but needless to say…it’s a pain in the ass. When I set my xBox One power options to shut-down the console. When I fire up the xBox One from shut-down mode…the app says to connect to my account, and everything works fine. Is this a product of the app? Can the app be changed somehow? It’s like the app goes into sleep mode.
If anyone cares. In the xBox One app…Settings > Experience > enable “Sign me in automatically”. Then everytime in the Xbox One dashboard…the plex app will say launch, instead of resume. This also seems to help with the app saying “server not found”.
This sounds similar to when I would try and start the app before logging in. The app would then see a new user and try and link the app again.
The reason why sign me in automatically should help is that it should be trying to log into the last logged in user in offline mode. (Which might also be why you were seeing some server not found messages as well). I have forwarded the information on, and well let you know if there is any more information that can be useful in finding a more permanent fix. (There might not be any more information needed from you possible as I don’t believe logging to the server starts until after this point)
