Add me to the list. No issues with Plex on my Smart TV, but Xbox One constantly needs to be re-linked. With this being such a common issue I’m hopeful a developer will chime in here at some point.
Replying to get help for friends who I see are randomly switched back to 720p 4mbps after I had them set up for maximum quality. Annoying issue!

I’m with you. This happened to my Plex app on Xbox One (OG) 3-4 times, over the course of 1-2 weeks (mostly in September, probably due to big updates, UNO UI). And yes it is a critical problem and extremely annoying, resetting most if not all settings. However, it hasn’t occurred for me for a little while (last 1-2 weeks). I was hoping it was fixed. Still worrried, though, because I noticed a bunch of the settings are still missing (like automatic log-in for users, most of audio section, etc). So I’m really not sure WTF is going on.
Edit: Jinxed. It happened to me again last night. Perhaps after every update? (2.41 is recent, see Plex for Xbox One for updates.) Forced to “link” to Plex again. Many settings were actually retained, mostly UI was reset (asks what to display after logging in). Fixed: “Automatic sign in” exists again in settings.
Any update on this or any fix or workaround to keep it logged in. This seems to happen all the time, it’s happened twice so far this week and has been happening for a long while. I always assumed it was just happening when there was an update but after following this topic I too have seen the version numbers stay the same 99% of the time.
Same here, this has happened about 10 times now. We use plex everyday on the xbox, yesterday it happened again
Happened again for me this week. I wouldn’t mind so much if it weren’t for the fact that all my preferences get wiped when I re-link my Xbox.

Same here. Sometimes happens once a week… Other times it’ll be a couple days or months. Haven’t been able to pinpoint why but it’s really annoying since it’s my primary playback device and wipes all settings. Miss the old days when it just used my local network instead of forcing me to login via Plex account in order to connect.
Happened to me this morning whilst I was testing fixes for the subtitle buffering Xbox users have been reporting for the last two years. How are we supposed to get any solid data points when our settings are reverted, in turn making it harder to identify issues and fixes…
Happens to me 2 times a week for past year. This issue has never been looked at.

Happens to me regularly as well. Like others have said, I can’t tie it back to any other activity or frequency. Sometimes multiple times a week and other times it will be fine for a few weeks.
I have this issue as well. I figured it was caused by app updates, since it was requiring me to relink every time. Its extremely annoying and shouldn’t be happening, but I assumed that was the cause.
Yep happens to me too. Have to manually input my settings at least twice a week, coupled with the buffering issue if Plex was a physical thing I would have gone to town on it with my lump hammer by now.
This happened to me twice today and intermittently for the last year. Completely unlinks and I must go to the Plex link site and redo all settings. Slowly driving us nuts.
