Xbox One keeps resetting all settings

Hey all,

Is anyone else been having issues with the Xbox one app resetting all your settings? I have my layout a specific way with automatic sign in turned on, but the past couple months, randomly, sometimes a couple times a week, it will just erase all my settings and start me on”pick a managed user” screen.

Yes, and it’s driving me nuts. For me, my account is getting unlinked and settings wiped (which sucks, because without disabling a few video features half my content won’t play).

I have not been able to correlate it with anything either.

Yes I’m seeing exactly the same behavior.

  1. Plex often spontaneously becomes unlinked from Xbox One X and shows the link screen. Have to manually re-link with the four digit code. Intermittently occurs several time a week.
  2. Whenever the Plex app updates itself, all user settings are lost, for example I set custom streaming quality and customize the menu items. These settings reset to the defaults at EVERY update.

These are really annoying bugs for an app that otherwise is really awesome. Please fix!!

I have been seeing this as well (both the reset of settings and the unlinking of the user). I’ve pinged the dev to see what steps we can do to troubleshoot this issue further.

i’m seeing the re-link issue constantly on one of my xbox’s … anyone have a solution to this yet?

I am having the same issue. It does not just happen when upgrading the app. I have taken note of version number and it hadn’t changed when it asked me to re-link. It has become a frequent occurrence. It first started losing system settings (Media Type, Media Order, Library Order) this went on for a couple months. No delinking has been added to the mix. It has become so frequent I no longer even bother customize it, as they are likely to be discarded in a day or so. It didn’t use to do this it. It used to stay linked. It used to remember settings. It is really annoying it would be nice to see this corrected.

Problem still occurred a week after most recent Xbox one major update. (Plex for Xbox one 2.36.1.70)

I’m having this problem now too. I’ve never had it before, but now that I have the most recent update, I have to relink my account multiple times per week and my customizations are gone when I log back in.

On XBox Plex keeps asking for pin or needed to resigning into Xbox account.
About every 10-15mins.
I have deleted the app and reinstalled. Same problem occurring.
Please help

Bump. Same issue. Only going between two gamertag profiles. Would be great to choose individual app settings per GT or a global setting across the box. I’d prefer global setting as people can swap user within Plex app as desired

Same issue, annoying to have to set this up every time I turn on my TV and want to watch Plex.

I have this same issue. It looks like the Plex app looses all local settings on the Xbox, needing me to link again, then asking me to setup my home screen.

Really annoying the Wife :crazy_face:

Xbox automatically logs into my profile, nothing fancy happening on my side.

It’s doing something similar to me but not to that extent. I use it every day and when I start the app every month or twice a month, it’s asking me what media I want in my side bar.
