as the other thread is showing as answered when it isn't i thought I'd start a new one. happens every 5-10 mines, really annoying, media server logs attached
I am so glad I pay for this service, not a single view, awesome
I am in the same boat. Probably going to cancel Plex Pass. I got it exclusively to use the client on my XBOX one, and there appears to be no support for this client.
I have some playback issues with Chromecast as well, but I can usually get it to play at least 2 out of 3 times without buffering issues. XBOX One's client either fails outright with an error of buffers incessantly every single time.
I just tried to watch a program on Plex on Xbox and every few minutes...
Unexpected error
Saying that its not connected to the network!?
This is mighty frustrating... i just gave up in the end and just watched it on my boxee box.

I'm getting the same issue, I thought it was just me... However, I don't get this issue if I play over DLNA on the Xbox One's "Media Player" app. I have a theory that it's to do with MyPlex. You see, recently I've been having an issue where every so often my server disappears from MyPlex for no apparent reason. The Xbox One app requires us to be signed in to plex in order to use it (presumably because of PlexPass stuff) so I wonder if losing that connection causes issues...
...or maybe it's just a general bug in the code. We have to remember that the Xbox One app is a preview release HOWEVER we are all paying for this service and right now it's almost unusable. Still, I have a few fallbacks - RasPlex, DLNA, and even my Chromecast.
Plex devs - are you working on this issue? As right now the app is horribly broken.

Curious...For DLNA playback, are you initiating the playback from the server machine with "Play To"? Or are you using an app to control it remotely?
Chromecast works OK for me, but I have to use the slower/more congested band of my router. Or maybe it's the transcoding that makes it buffer. Not sure where the bottleneck is, but it feels like DLNA would be a better option, if it didn't involve me walking upstairs every time I wanted to play something.

I'm selecting it on the Xbox's Media Player app.. however, I've only done that a couple of times, as I still generally use the Plex app. If Chromecast is an issue for you it's almost definitely a transcoding thing; I used to run PMS on UnRaid and using the Chromecast with it was basically a no-go due to the slow IO. Since switching to FreeNAS, transcoding works much better, hence why the Chromecast now appears to work better.
Either way... the Xbox One app is pretty screwy.
I'm having the same problem only it's happening ever 10 seconds... sometimes I get 60 seconds. This app used to work perfectly. What happened?
A lot of threads are about this issue so just to be sure one of them doesn't get ignored, here are my logs for it. Running PMS on FreeNAS.
Was seeing this and switched to a wired connection and it went away.
Tried both, same issue. And even if switching over connection type fixes it for someone it’s still an issue - Plex clearly isn’t handling the situation very well and shouldn’t just drop out like that.
Out of interest how long have you had it on a wired connection? I’ve found the issue fairly intermittent, I can go for hours without it happening some days and other days it happens frequently.

About a day. I switched it back after a day to wifi and haven't seen the issue since. Strange I know. I more so just wanted to report this for any devs who may be tracking this thread. Good luck
Unfortunately wired is not an option for me.
Devs really need to respond to this just saying that they are aware of it or something.
Suggestion 1: Plex for Xbox One puts lots somewhere we can actually view them (even in an "advanced" hidden mode) and check things out.
Suggestion 2: Plex for Xbox One periodically (say once every 0.2 of a second) pings the server it is communicating with and such pings, when not responding, are logged.
As always, providing PMS logs is probably the most helpful thing you can do here.
We are planning on improving the client logging and error message handling as well.

A couple of us have done, you can see my logs in the post above. If you need any further logs or assistance, I (and I'm sure many others) would be happy to help in order to fix this incredibly annoying bug.
Where do I find xbox one logs?
There aren't any user accessible xb1 logs (yet). For now you can attach your PMS logs which should hopefully still shed some light on the issue:

The 'Plex Media Server.log' is the useful one here.
Thanks to those who have already posted them! Unfortunately the 'unexpected error' is exactly that - they could have different causes.
The forums aren't letting me upload the file. Originally it was too big 5.2 mb but I deleted a chunk of it and it won't let me upload that filetype.
I'm assuming since you weren't able to help the people who have uploaded their logs though that this isn't a straight forward issue on their end. Also since my iPad on the same network works fine I'm wondering if this is an xbox live issue. Live hasn't exactly been reliable recently.
Is there an alternative way to connect to your plex server on the xbox?
There may be a number of errors here - (hence the 'unexpected' bit :) ) - so all logs are useful. They will all be looked at, but maybe not straight away - sorry!
We only check XBL on startup and user switching. This shouldn't cause problems during playback.
