Anytime I play a movie on my Xbox One X that has DTS audio, I get no audio whatsoever from the Xbox. Any other audio seems to work fine, if I use the Plex app built into my Samsung TV and play the same movie then the audio works.
I am trying to figure out if this is an issue with the Xbox, or something else.
Audio is via an Onkyo receiver, HDMI to a Samsung One Connect Mini, Xbox is also connected to the One Connect Mini. It only seems to be on movies using DTS.
I have read a bunch about the Xbox supporting DTS, but only on the blu-ray drive, so not sure if that is the problem.
I have a similar setup I believe it’s an issue with the application. Once you select play on the video turn off the receiver. wait for it to turn completely off then turn it back on. Hit play and you will have sound. It’s silly how plex is the only program that requires this yet they continue to State it’s not their issue.
I actually managed to fix this, it was an option in the Plex app on the Xbox, took a bit of hunting around but essentially turning off “Display Mode Switching” and it cured it.
