Xbox Series X “an unexpected playback problem occurred” with HDHomeRun DVR recordings started mid-October timeframe from what I can tell. TV programs recorded before mid-October still play fine. Newer recordings all come up with that error and won’t play. Is there a setting or something to correct this issue?
Nevermind, it appears to be related to the Xbox transcoding issue in this thread
I was able to correct the issue by copying the Xbox One profile and making an Xbox profile that was mentioned in that thread. I’m still not sure why older recordings and movie mp4 files were streaming to the Xbox ok though.
Can you please provide the exact xml profile and and the exact path where this profile was placed? I tried this before and nothing happened. My synology nas is hosting my Plex database.
My Plex server is hosted on a Windows system. The profiles were stored here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex\Plex Media Server\Resources\Profiles
The profile I used to copy was “Xbox One.xml”. The copy was named “Xbox.xml” and the line “client name =” was changed to Xbox
