This log is from a point where it stopped shortly after starting a movie 1080p movie.

Since this TV was new I was surprised how well it did with Plex. Finally I could watch 4K HDR. Until recently. Now it even struggles with 1080p and just stops playing 9/10 movies.

I am running a Openwrt Netgear R7800 router everything on 5GHz in a not so crowded neighborhood (its really silent with wifi here). I’ve now tried both the -ct and mainline wifi kernel. Overall I’ve been very happy with my wifi, router and latency its better than its ever been and all devices including TV maxes out my WAN, has top signal, MTR logs shows low pings all around for several days testing. I’ve also tried playing the video file from both NVMe and 7200 RPM harddrive.

The Plex app on the TV has always struggled with subtitles somewhat. You enable them you get “Error could not play the media file”, you press again and it works… wat. An annoyance, but nonetheless I just try a few times and it works.

Recently the Plex app on the TV has been absolutely unusable. Its completely random which movies I can watch and not. It always shows “Direct Play”, “Local” in dashboard and 105Mbits.

Most movies stop shortly after starting just showing the circle/loading symbol. Others work for a while then stop. Its like the initial buffering works ok, but as soon as that buffer runs out it stops.

It came out of nowhere… Now its simply unusable for Plex - I know it has worked so it irritates me I feel I now have to buy a tv box, even if ultimately it seems inevitable.

I have also tried with ethernet (which sucks btw) and I have tried clearing the cache for the app and logging in again along with restarting TV fully (holding power → restart)

Please go ahead and grab the full server logs and post them here in a zip. Snippets don’t really help. Also please make sure that VERBOSE logging is turned OFF.

I deleted logs and reproduced the error so it has minimal extra logs. It worked last night with anything, today the problem reappeared.

Could be also related to this topic here as I suspect forced subtitles to be the issue:
