Xiaomi Mi Box S - Audio delay in Plex app, working good with Chromecast subsystem

Hello there,

I affect a strange audio problem with mkv-s that include AC3/DTS. If i start it with Plex app, the audio is delay a bit. (not too much, about 2-300ms). But and now follow the interesting part, if i open the Plex app on my mobile or my PC, and use Mi Box Chromecast subsystem, it working well, no audio delay.

I try every possible setting in Plex app (passthrough, frequency, resolution sync, old player, etc…) and Mi Box settings (PCM, Auto chose, manual…), but not help at all.

It possible that is not a Plex problem, because i try two another app on Mi Box (Kodi with plexkodiconnect and MrMC) but affect the exact same problem.

The question is that if not a Plex related problem, why work well with chromecast mode? (it possible that Mi Box use a different processing unit to decode media with chromecast subsystem?)

No real solution… The only way that i watch movies with chromecast funtion…

I think the problem is the AC3+DTS sound (with different type of sound, not affect the problem).

With chromecast, plex server it automatically convert the sound, it is the reason that we not affect the problem. With plex app, try to play the untached ac3/dts sound, and it delayed.

Devs, possible to set to force re-encode audio?
