Hi All,

When trying to view the EPG it will not show anything and will flicker like it is trying to update or show the guide via the web interface. This subsequently makes the CPU run high and server run hot.
I first noticed this via my client devices and the server’s fan going crazy, but have since been purely testing via the web interface being locally accessed on the server.
It’s definitely being caused by the TV Guide not functioning properly.

It all started after I updated to Plex Server version 1.20.2.3402, upgrading the firmware on my HDHomerun and updating to the last Windows update. I have since rolled back to Plex Server version 1.20.2.3343 because I did not have this issue on that release, however the issue still occurred. So I deleted the DVR, and the problem went away for the high CPU usage. I then re-created the DVR using the XML guide from IceTV and problem returned. I have now deleted the DVR again until this issue is resolved.

Using the Channels app on any device, I can access live TV with no issues, so there is not a problem with the HDHomerun. It would seem the issue is with either Plex or on IceTV’s end.

We use LiveTV all the time and record from it, so it’s very annoying now that we have lost the recording functionality and will have to resort to using the Channels app for watching live TV and not be able to record.
Attached is some footage where you can see the guide with a spinning wheel trying to load, along with the channel number flickering in the top left of the screen.

Hmm, so just read the issue ‘Progam guide information in New Zealand (NZXMLTV)’ which didn’t stand out to me as being related as it specifically names New Zealand and should be renamed. I live in Australia.

So it would seem this is related to DST which also fits into the time frame I first observed this issue as well. Looks like this is a common ongoing issue.
I’ll re-add the DVR once the issue is resolved. Can’t risk burning out my server or setting my house on fire until then.
