Okay, thank you. I’ll check it.
Today I got my own nvidia shield for testing.
What could I say more at this moment: Android TV emulator and cheap chinese android boxes are not enough because thay don’t show all correctly.
Hope, now it will be easier to fix bugs
That’s great news, there is nothing better then Nvidia Shield TV for playing media on Android.
FYI
The next update is delayed… I need to adapt the app to the requirements of Android TV so that can be accessed on Google Play from TV.
It will take some time.
Hello, sorry for my bad english, i’m french. Xplay android TV works on Nvidia Shield?
I do not understand how to get it. In Play Store, it is written incompatible.
Thanks for your replys
Hi
As I said above now you can’t get it on Google Play from an Android TV device because I need to meet some Google’s requirements for Android TV apps.
After this the app will be accessible
Hope it will happen in this month
What I’m going to do next:
- Fix bugs.
- Polish the UI
- Check the passthrough working. HEVC, as example
- Translate the interface to Spanish. Then Germany and so on.
- Add new features. I have not decided yet from what to start. Any suggestions are welcome.
Thank you.
Will you be releasing on the FireTV/FireStick?
Hi, thanks for question.
I’ve just tested the app with Amazon Appstore test system and get the result:
“Compatibility test successfully completed. We did not find any of the common issues that can prevent an app from being published to the Amazon Appstore”
So I think it’s technically possible but I have no such a device for real testing now. I need to get more information about Amazon App Store
Addon:
I need to do small changes in the app and it will be ready for publishing on Amazon AppStore.
I think I will start the publishing process on the next week
New update has been released now:
I found that in some cases the app can’t play videos on Android versions < 8. Fixed
Hi DironDir,
When I click on payment it still says
PayPal:
Things don’t appear to be working at the moment. Please try again later.
It’s been like this for a while now, so I haven’t been able to play anything since my demo ended.
Thanks
Gordon
Features and fixes on XPlay would be good.
-
TV themes not working, regardless if you select disable tv themes or not.
-
When scrolling movies it stops it stops and jumps up to the settings top right then you have to bring it back down and then you have to start again and again unless you to select from the alphabet from the bottom for a named movie. Also getting back to home on the left takes forever.
-
Also the grid size is all wrong, the default should only show 6 movies/tv shows and music across unless you make the image smaller or bigger as it is it’s showing 6.5 which doesn’t look right. That’s what it shows on my new 55 inch 2018 tv. And if you change the grid size from 2 to 3 it looks no different just smaller images.
-
Music needs to have the option to select albums not just be presented with the artist.
-
It would be nice for our user logo to appear as it does in plex not blank as it does now.
-
It would be nice to be able to select from a more action menu “play version” so you could select a different version of the movie.
Your doing a great job
we appreciate all your hard work.
Thanks
Gordon
Ok, let me uninstall the version I installed and install it from google App Store.
Thanks
Gordon
Ok, that’s all done, just need you to fix HEVC playback. Can’t play any of my 4K movies at the moment.
Also this new version still shows TrueHD/Atmos (T) I guess that means still not working also.
Thanks
Gordon
Hi Gordon!
I will check it. It looks like a bug
I will think how to improve scrolling.
About getting home - you can go to toolbar under content list (where buttons and the path of the content and then go left. You will see home in several clicks.
Could you please give me a screenshot? What is the screen resolution of the tv?
There is such an option.
Go down and you will see albums
Okay, I will check it
Could you explain a little bit more what “a different version” is?
Thank you. I appreciate you help.
if you see the (T) sign it means the content can be played only in transcode mode.
Now I’m working on the (T) detection and direct play.
You may have multiple versions of the same movie in library (for example with different resolutions). In plex app You have an option to select which one You would like to play.
