Hey @bublikoff, thanks for try a better XPLAY, but I like more the old interface:
now the big posters in Home page are very big… in old version we could see more information and was mor friendly and intuitive.
now the app is slower, if I enter in a show, i can read texts like “loading media” or “loading art” before see the information.
So much three dots menus “…” , no intuitive to know what does these menus, or what choose to do something.
If i have more than 10 temps i need to scroll with the whell of the remote control (up/down), i cant do it with left / right buttons or with the pointer of the magic control.
When playing a movie I cant reward / fordward with left / right buttons, I must press the << / >> in the interface.
Where are the seen / unseen filter?
When I pay for the app, was cause I like the interface, was much better than Official PLEX app and very faster.
I understand that there will be people who like the new interface, but we need the posibility of choose wich one to use.
I read that LG aproved an incorrect version, but… the interface of the correct version is the same that now?
How can i go to the older version ???
PD: I really appreciate trying to improve the version, but if i were you, I would follow the old line or at least give the possibility that everyone could choose which one to use.
@bublikoff are you able to update the media controls section (play, pause area) to be similar to plex. The large orange progress bar and orange in general across the app isn’t the best for OLED… or as a temp fix, can some colour options be added in?
I can now use Xplay, i.e. the app now authenticates. I do have a major issue though. some of my TV shows have a great many seasons, however, I cannot scroll left / right to select a season beyond the 8 that fit on the screen (1 specials and 7 seasons). Season 8 and beyond are not accessible.
I have the same problem, XPlay is only connecting to my external IP, even though other apps on my local network (Roku, LG Plex App) connect on my local IP. When XPlay connects to my external IP it will do everything except play a video, just hangs and spins forever. Previous version you could give it a manual IP address to use, and this worked. Now that option is gone.
Just got a notification from LG … about rejected update.
And Im a bit angry … sometimes they make me a bit crazy …
Here is one example why they reject apps https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcKrHkhukK0
They think that dashboard screen must have BACK button functionality … are you kidding?) Its navigation top level … back button should bring user to a one level up and dont make messy in users mind when they press button and the app moves to “random” screen … but when user press back button he probably want to move to upper navigation level instead of messy jumping along screens.
The most bad thing is that I can do nothing … the version that they approve has no online update and I can not fix issues or bring new functionality until they approve correct version
@bublikoff Just for the sake of all the people that are having issues. I would advise to just bring in that back functionality like LG want it. You can always later on change it to something else. But this way you can at least bring out the proper version of the app so everyone can start using Xplay again.
I dont think that it will speed up approving process … I will have to start circles of hell from the beginning =( Ive asked they last time … how did they approve buggy version that they rejected previously?! And they told me that its my fault and because of problem in approving procedure … I still dont understand how did they approve exactly the same version the same id that was rejected in early september. There is also strange thing is that I can not upload file with the same or lower version … version must be upper to accept file. But I see that version for LG with resolution 720 has correct version but for 1080 has wrong version …
Its not fully clear for me how the app should react to back functionality not dashboard screen … and it will not be clear for user and LG QA Testers …
Lets imagine the situation the app just started and bring you to dashboard screen? User press back button … to what screen it should go? User have not visited any media details screen …
OK the second situation the app has already started … and user already visited media details … user press BACK button on details screen and it brings him to the dashboard screen … and he press BACK button again … what it should do in this case?
If they press back button on dashboard, a windows appear asking if they want to exit yes/no like in other apps like the Amazon one. If they press yes the webOS menu appears.
And the second case (i’m not sure) i think they are talking about the music that appears on tv series when you go back to menu (i would take that feature out), maybe they think it’s a bug
In the official Plex app, at root level the back button brings up the app switcher and pushing it again closes the app switcher back down… Maybe that’s what they want?
