Xxxxx Account info not found

Server Version#:4.8.4
Player Version#:1.01900

I’ve had to reinstall the flex app on my Samsung Smart TV UE32D6500. Once installed, I’ve signed into my Samsung account, then I’m asked for my Plex Service IS and Password, so I enter my email address and password and I get the following;
’username’ account information not found.
So I then just skip this part and run the app. I get the Welcome to Plex for Samsung page and click Connect with your Plex Account, but then I get the following;
It scrolls down to system,
Sign in to your Plex Account ‘button not lit’
Username ‘is blank’
Email ‘is blank’
Subscription…None
Login Failed.

Am I missing a trick here?
Would appreciate some guidance on this please.

First of all, your app is old, so suggest you update to the latest.

Secondly, your TV is very old (2011), so above is sadly the latest avail, but when said, try this:

Uninstall Plex Media Server App from your TV, and when done, power off your TV, and unplug the power cord for at least 5 min.

Then install the version from the link I gave you, and you might have to use the USB method

I don’t think 2.012 will run on a 2011 Samsung.

Ups, and I stand corrected here :wink:

Latest version was v1.020

Hi,

Thanks for your input dane22 and OttoKerner.

Just to confirm I need to install 2.013 ?

This may be obvious to most, but how do I install the app from usb. Yes I can dump the 2.013 app on to a usb flash drive, but where do start from on the TV, other than connecting the flash drive. I see nothing online regarding doing this?

Again, Thank you for your replies, most grateful guy’s.

Dizzwold.

I’m afraid this is the end of the road for the Plex app on your TV. The developer has retired for health reasons. Development for 2011 Samsung devices stopped already several years ago.
Your best bet is to get a device to plug in to your TV’s HDMI port. FireTV, AppleTV, Nvidia shield etc.

HI @OttoKerner,

Thanks again for your input and time to reply.

That’s sad news, but I do have a Firestick. I don’t know why I didn’t think of that.

Great work around.

Issue now fixed thanks to the knowledge given.

Thank you. :grin:

Regards.
