Yatse with Plex support

Thank you for adding Plex support to this great app. Are there any plans to support Plex playlists in Yatse?

There’s plans for that

Just so many things to do to also support Kodi with that :frowning:

Hey,
I was wondering if you need plex pass to download your files via yatse?

No you don’t, but for the moment no transcoding when downloading as this was what was most asked

Hey,

I started using yatse yesterday. At the beginning there is no way to play any content from my plex server. But changing to Force UPnP everything works fine.

But the conection says that the cerficate from my server is not valid. And the conection type is HTTPS (No cert checks).

There will be a problem with this type of connection?

And thanks to add plex to this app.

Can you please contact me with logs?

The option Force UPnP is only relative to Kodi so should have 0 impact on Plex.

For the https, it means your server is using a self signed certificate. This does generate any problem about using the application, but it means that Yatse can’t validate the integrity of the server it’s talking too. So you are vulnerable to man in the middle attacks. But it’s not really related to Yatse, it’s general https way of working

Yesterday I untick Force Upnp and works like a charm (maybe it was too late to do that stuff)

Just only with VLC player at time to resume a film. Then say that the link is not playable. I think is more related to VLC because with MX player works fine.

Anyway, I will send you the debug, but at my return from holidays.

Thanks

For the record Smart Sync works without Plex Pass as all Yatse features currently supported.

Version 8.6.0 is published

Yatse still needs your help to counter Google robots  If you own a blog or a website and are willing to talk about Yatse please contact us.
Or if you know a Googler that is not a bot and can actually answer other things than automated responses

Does the app work with remote servers or only accessible to servers on the same home network? Thanks

Both cases are supported

Is there a way to hide certain video libraries from being grouped as movies, For example my porn movies are grouped into movies and show up on the overview, I would like that not to happen…

edit I found the source libraries button under the filter settings. whew. lol. Was in a shock after opening up the app after installing at work and all my Movies in progress popped up!

You can either use the filter, or edit the host and completely remove some libraries from the sync too so that they are never usable and visible on that device

Perfect thanks!

I just discovered Yatse had plex support today, and it made my day years ago when I moved from XBMC to Plex, yatse was one of the things I missed the mos. I was happy to see my old unlocker still worked. I threw a small donation your way. Thanks!!

I just unlocked the full version of Yatse to have Plex support but I cant do much with it.
I have Yatse on my android, Plex Media Player open on my PC and I want to use Yatse as a remote.
Here are the issues I’m having:

  • When I try to control the media Player using cast, the player shows up as “Roku 3(4200X)”, don’t know why.
  • When I connect to it (the roku device, that is) it controls my Player, on the PC, but the remote is very limited, only arrows + OK + return work out of the dozen present
  • When I try to play ANY media while casting I get an error message saying “Problem starting media. Does your player supports the chosen file format ?.”
I can’t seem to get it to do anything.
Is this expected behaviour? If someone could help me please, thank you.

tl;dr : Only remote couple of buttons on remote work on Plex

Yatse for the moment is not meant to be just a remote for Plex clients, as plex clients are quite limited in that regard.

It’s mean to be a client to Plex Server that can cast media to multiple players.

So point 1 and 2 are normal.

Point 3 is not normal but as written a lot in this thread and everywhere:

Without logs nothing I can tell.

#Yatse 8.7.5 released.

  • Many, many, many internal changes to prepare the future.
  • Migrated to last Google In App billing library, please report any licences issues by contacting support.
  • Fixed Kodi custom commands creation.
  • Some music videos sorting issues.
  • Some other reported issues and always more optimizations.

If you use Yatse for Plex and lack some functions, or do not use it because it lack things, please do not hesitate to make feature requests on web site to influence the TODO list order

Perfect app you have here!! I’ve been using it since 2012!

One question: is there support to play images/photos (I mean… with Plex as media server… because I know with XBMC/Kodi there is - at least since 2012)? I can’t find that option.

Thank you in advance.

Not yet as no one asked for that  and Kodi image side is really limited :frowning:

Open a feature request at https://community.yatse.tv/ and see if more people want that.
