Yet another Futurama question

So my boys started watching Futurama.

I took the time to rename all the episodes and click the button for DVD ordering (thankfully a lot easier to do this now than a few years ago by the looks of things, one of the few thumbs up I can give Plex for what is an otherwise excruciating experience on the DVR side).

All is well, EXCEPT one perplexing thing - the final episode, S08E13 - “Meanwhile” (on the DVD ordering) just will not show up - cannot fathom if I am doing something wrong, even the 4 feature length eps show up where they should at the end of “season 4”.

I suppose I can have them watch the final episode manually on Kodi, but still, seems strange that Plex is picking up the entire DVD order except this last one.

I’ve restarted the server, updated the meta etc etc - also consulted Dr Google, but the majority of the advice relates to the DVD ordering pre this features inclusion in Plex.

Any ideas?

Folder structure and file names are needed to provide you with some hints.

How do I give you that?

Every other episode shows up correctly except this:

Futurama.S08E13.Meanwhile.1080p.Blu-ray.DD5.1.x264-CtrlHD

Several of the previous episodes are named accordingly, and they all show up fine.

I can not find a season S08 are you sure you have this correct?

Yes, that’s what I’m on about, the “correct” order (also see Firefly, a monumental cockup trying to watch that in the airing order).

Anyway, as I said, all 127 other episodes have been picked up by Plex correctly, except S08E13.

There is no S08 SEASON 08, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7

Please, reread my OP and understand it before replying, thanks.

Same way you gave the file name. I need the folder structure where this file is situated. And please do also determine which file format container you are using. If you have mp4/m4v files, these could contain embedded metatags. And these metatags more than often contain either utter nonsense or contradicting info to the file name.

Have you inspected the posters of the other episodes if one of them shows the ‘duplicate’ indicator on top of it? grafik

Yes, there are no duplicates showing - Plex shows 127 episodes of Futurama instead of the expected 128

My folder structure on my Synology is “/Diskstation/KIDS TV/Futurama/”

I am far from being a novice here - I troubleshoot IT problems every day to make money - every other episode shows up correctly, as do all the rest of the items in this folder structure “KIDS TV”

There is no erroneous metatags in the offending file - all the files are all .mkv’s

What I have just done is sourced a 720p HDTV rip - renamed it to s08e13 and stuck it in the folder - NOW it shows grafik

Deleted the new 720p file and voila, the original one I couldn’t get to show up stays. I’ve done nothing except introduce another instance of this episode to make it show up.

Bizarre.
