You don't have any media servers yet ... initial install

Player Version#: MS Edge Browser

Just installed Plex on new laptop. Server appears in the tray. Right clicking and choosing browse library brings up the Plex web app page. The first time I tried the setup wizard appeared for maybe 3 seconds then disappeared. Then I get “You don’t have any media servers yet. download and install one and try again.”

Well I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled twice with the same result. Tried Opera and Brave with the same result using local host address.

Can you help me get out of the blocks?

There is no Server choice under Settings > General that I can find. After clicking on settings, on the sidebar under Plex Web heading the choices are: General, Debug, and Player. Under my username there are several subheads, none of which are Server.

I went through the process you outlined a couple of times, including a reboot. Nothing has change, same result I initially reported, and no Server choice under Settings > General.

I just set up the network to 192.168… Great results; all working now.
