Given there was an update today, this really should have been fixed, given it was known after the last update.
I love āon deckā but I hate the latest beta where new released shows are automatically added to āon deckā, even if I never watched a single episode of those shows.
Please, add an option to disable this behavior, because āon deckā should show only content Iām actually watching!

Could you get me a screenshot of what is appearing unexpectedly (show / series / episode number) and if you have watched an episode from that show. There is an issue currently raised and I need to establish if it is the same
The functionality is supposed to add new season premiere if you watched a show before and there may be a bug in that code

The fix will get released once it makes it way through the development cycle. There is always a pipeline of releases

Iām not at home so I canāt provide a screenshot now.
Anyway, I added the second season of āJessica Jonesā and the first episode of the second season appeared āOn Deckā.
I watched the first season over a year ago, and I didnāt start watching the second season.
So I believe that it should not appear āOn Deckā.
PS: BtW I donāt like at all this feature, even If I watched the show just month ago. the āOn Deckā should show only currently watching show between the time I set (2 weeks).
[EDIT]
here the screenshot: Immagine hosted at ImgBB ā ImgBB
the two shows in the red rectangle were added to my library but I havenāt started watching them. I watched the first season of āJessica Jonesā over one year ago, and the second season of āShadowhuntersā over a month ago.
I agree that On Deck should consider the āDate I Last watched the Seriesā as the date to compare. I use On Deck for more than just current shows and I want shows that become available to show in On Deck if I watched them even a year or more ago. However I can have that by setting āWeeks to consider for On Deckā to a high value. (104 in my case)
If āWeeks to consider for On Deckā is correctly respected then people that want only current shows and people, like me, that want much more can both have what we want.
If what @dg1974it is saying is happening is truly happening and not unique to something in his setup then it is really a bug and should be fixed. If it is something unique to his system then it still should be fixed as I cannot think of anything the user could be doing wrong that would screw up On Deck in the way described.
I use On Deck extensively but it should work correctly and even if a bug does not effect my usage should be squashed because a feature like On Deck should work correctly for all.
On more thing: Even though I use On Deck for all my TV series viewing (except for starting a new series) it should be able to be disabled for those that do not want it. In fact EVERY hub should be able to be disabled so the screen shows only what we want. For me that would mean that the main scree should show the movie list on the left and On Deck and nothing else. No Recently Added no Continue Watching (On deck is enough for that) and none of the other, for me, totally worthless hubs.
I treat movies differently in that if I want to watch a movie I go into the movie library but there I NEVER want to even see a hub. I just want to browse all movies.
But all that requires Plex providing users with choices and Plex believes users are too stupid to handle choice.
the āOn Deckā feature is pretty broken in latest beta.
I started watching āStar Trek Discoveryā, yesterday I watched episode 13 (out of 15).
Since when I added the show Plex matched only the english information, now I tried to update metadata to have italian episodes titles etc. Plex now found the italian metadata, updated all the stuff and⦠the show disappeared from āOn Deckā.
Nice!

I added the first two episodes of the brand new second season of āA Series of Unfortunate Eventsā and since itās a new season it should appear on the new version of āon deckā, right?
Nope!
Itās only in ārecently added tvā section:
while āJessica Jonesā second season and āShadowhuntersā third season are still āon deckā even if two weeks (the period I set up to keep shows āon deckā) are passed since I added the new episodes.
so⦠any chance this bugs will be fixed in the next beta?
or I should revert to the public releases (and I hope I will not loose NONE of my data reverting to the public release)?

Have you watched the last episode of season 01 of āA Series of Unfortunate Eventsā within the last āWeeks to consider for on deck?ā If not then the behavior you are seeing is correct. That is why I set my āWeeks to consider for on deckā t0 104 so that if any series goes on hiatus for a year or two then, when it restarts, I will get it on deck as I want.

I never watched āA Series of Unfortunate Eventsā. But as I said in previous post, I set up āOn Deckā to keep shows for two weeks. I saw āShadowhuntersā and āJessica Jonesā way more than 2 weeks ago, and they popped up in āOn Deckā.
I watched previous season of āArrowā, āFlashā etc and so, why they didnāt appeared on āOn Deckā when I added the latest season?
Itās really an inconsistent behavior, aināt it?

Well āOn Deckā works perfectly for me. If there is a show you have never watched at all then it should never show āOn Deckā because āOn Deckā is for presenting the next episode of ongoing TV series as long as the last episode watched is within the āWeeks to consider for on deckā period and that is exactly how it works for me.
I do not know what is happening to your āOn Deckā but I suspect that it is something unique to your setup as I have zero problems with āOn deckā and I hope the Plex does not āfixā it, if needed, in such a way that it breaks current correct functionality for me.
Maybe my āOn deckā is working correctly for me because I set my weeks so high (104) or maybe the Plex gods are just smiling on me at this time and they could decide at any time to squash me under their thumb.

LOL!
This strange āOn Deckā behavior just started with the latest beta. Before that release I never had a problem with how āOn Deckā worked, so I hope is just a bug they will fix in the next release.
The āon deckā feature doesnāt seem to be a value for every user of Plex. Why is it then an issue to be discussed at all, to make this feature configurable? I also do not want to see āon deckā on my dashboard - so its a clear requirement of a signicicant number of users (looks like), and seems to be relevant for a next update.
Will never happen.
We all have been put on ignore by Plex.
Itās a shame too since we all do their testing and they canāt even fix the stuff thatās suppose to work for paying customersā¦

Nonsense.
āThe Paying Customersā should feel privileged Plex accepted your money - to be in the ranks of the Beta Testers. I mean they gave you that Super Secret Elite Forum - where you can be ignored just like everyone else, but at the highest possible level, and THAT is what youāre paying for.
In the words of the great Strother Martin:
B)
On deck is great for quickly getting back to TV shows when you have hundreds of them on your plex server. And you can turn on deck off on a per library baises and it does work.
I was in a similar situation where I had a family plex server and no way to add and password adult videos on it without plex pass. I ended up running an Emby server with dlna turned off and a password protected user for access just to handle the adult videos.
Plex Media Server 1.12.2.4929 was released yesterday as Beta
It allows for Number of Weeks for OnDeck to be zero

Iām the lucky guy: it doesnāt work for me. I set it to 0 and all the shows are still āon deckā!
And no matter how many shows I add: āOn deckā shows series Iām currently watching plus two shows I watched well before my āweek to considerā setting (2 weeks) and the only way to have them off the āon deckā is to mark the season as āwatchedā.
Great!!!

Iāll try.
