Your changes could not be saved

I am trying to set up Plex for the first time on my QNAP NAS. I can’t add a library. When I browse to my multimedia folder and try to add it, Plex reports “your changes could not be saved”. So, how do I get started?

That has happened to me dozens of time.
I have PMS on a couple of PC’s and a Synology NAS

My observations !

  1. Click save/cancel a few times - then check the result - sometimes it actually does save even though it says it did not.
  2. I found stopping previous libraries from updating while saving also helped.
  3. Overall it always eventually saved

When creating the library, make sure that the language pulldown box is populated, cuz if not, it indicates that your QNAP/Plex is busy and not yet ready. If so, then simply wait like 2 min.

And if not, we need info like version of PMS, Model of QNAP and maybe even logs
