In preparation for the new guide provider, I updated to 1.16.1 this morning. I was a little perturbed to find that it apparently suddenly had NO upcoming recordings. My guess is that the new guide doesn’t match the old recordings setup. This isn’t a catastrophe for me or anything as I do not record a lot, and I just started setting up the recordings again. Still this was not expected. I mostly post this as a warning to others who may be surprised.
I also discovered that the new program guide does not list 2 of the channels that were recently added in our area (they had JUSt been put into Gracenote). Channels 18.4 and 18.5 from WQOW television.
So I had the same issue and then realized that for some reason after upgraded the guide was attempting to use Comcast instead of Verizon Fios. I have Verizon Fios but after upgraded it got changed to Comcast and all my recordings were gone because of the channel mismatch… I decided to delete both my tuner devices and I am in the middle of re-adding… I could not find a way replace Comcast to Verizon. I hope that re-adding will let me pick Verizon again and the issue will be resolved
I had the same issue… I have Fios and after the upgrading to 1.16.1, it switched my DVR to a Frontier service. There was no way to change that in the setting. However, I was able to delete the DVR and, after re-adding, it recognized it as the old Fios.
Only bad news is that I lost all the specif channels I have removed from my EPG (redundant SD and the like). So an afternoon of EPG fixing awaits me this weekend.
Good news is that this Plex branded EPG loads exponentially faster then the old Gracenote version!
I ended downgrading to 1.16.0.1226. Too many issues with the new guide… live tv was working ok, but it missed recording a lot of my shows. Sometimes I could not even schedule a recording for a channel that I was watching. Plex should consider delaying until they do more testing with the new guide, it is a total mess. The show names are all screw up, scheduling is now broken; even if I try to select the channel manually it still do not record anything. I think it might be related to the SD/HD issue.
I had to go through and set all of my recordings to “PREFER HD” so it would record something as it assumes everything is SD. Unfortunate. Otherwise just re-saving them seemed to work for most. Shows like “THE VOICE” got mis-identified sadly, and some shows “This is us” apparently have no metadata.
It’s a problem with the guide data. See HD recording scheduling fail with 1.16.1.1246 . You can trick Plex to record HD by either deleting the SD channel or by forcing the channel on the advanced record settings (assuming that it allows this - I’ve got another bug on that).
