Did anything change in this version that would affect HW Transcoding? I’ve noticed my CPU usage is bucked at 100% all of a sudden when transcoding a 1080p file to 720p.

Downgraded back to 1.32.1.6999 and all is well again.
I have the exact same issue.
DS220+ running 7.2-rc1
Plex Server on the Synology - 1.32.2.7002
Videos stay for a while on the initial spinning percentage loading and CPU load is high on the Synology.
I’ve tried downgrading Plex Server back to 1.32.1.6999 but it won’t allow me to downgrade to a previous version.
Do I need to uninstall and reinstall?
Will it keep my settings and library?
I took the plunge and uninstalled Plex Server from the Synology, and luckily it gave me the option for Uninstall Only or Uninstall and Erase database
Uninstall Only, then reinstall 1.32.1.6999 has now got it working again.
I don’t know what’s wrong in the newer update, but it doesn’t seem to work correctly.

without seeing the server logs its impossible to guess at the root cause. I suspect this issue will come back around in the future.
Sorry for late reply but this is how I installed an earlier version as well. I’ve seen numerous people complain about this issue, even on Reddit. Surprised it hasn’t picked up more traction.

On Synology:
- Uninstall the Plex version app with “Uninstall Only” (KEEP)
- Now install the lower version.
(synology does not permit direct ‘downgrade’)
Regarding 1.32.2.7002
I’ve spoken with the engineer about this.
There is a problem (regression) which she’s fixed.

This isn’t fixed in the latest Beta Updates is it? I just tried the latest one out and CPU skyrockets the same way.
1.32.2.7100 is fixed. Many reports have already confirmed this.
I personally verified it in the following prior to release:
- Ubuntu 20 - KabyLake - QSV
- Ubuntu 22 - Xeon - Nvidia P2200
- Ubuntu 22 - RaptorLake QSV ( + AV1 )
- Ubuntu 22 - Nvidia GT3040 ( + AV1 )
Ok, I’m on DS920+ and CPU was really high (80%+) with only 2 users transcoding just now, I’ve already downgraded lol
The release notes don’t seem to mention anything about a transcoding issue with Intel CPUs?
(Transcoder) Some sessions could fall back to software when attempting to use an Nvidia GPU
May I have the Syno DEBUG Logs ZIP which capture it (build 7100) failing?
Sure, can you remind me which one of the files this would be (I do have debug logs enabled)?

7002 is no more.
7100 contains all the known fixes.
