1080p buffering issue

Hi all, I’m having some issues and hope someone more knowledgeable then me can shed some light

I• RaspberryPi 4b with Plex server V4.51.1 installed connected to LAN via Ethernet cable. The Pi has an external USB drive with movies & TV shows plugged into the high speed USB port
• 3rd Gen Fire TV Stick with Plex app V8.13.2.23227 installed alson connected to LAN via Ethernet cable
• HDhomerun Scribe Quatro tuner connected to LAN via Ethernet cable
• HP laptop connected to LAN via WiFi

My problem is that when viewing most 1080p programs on my Fire TV Stick, it buffers constantly. It can go from seconds up to a couple of minutes, but it will buffer.
Same program, same Plex server, same LAN, but using my HP on WiFi, instead of Fire TV Stick: movie plays perfectly. Is there a way to fix it? I am also having this problem with Live TV.
I know there is a newer version of server, I had Live TV & DVR issues and went back to this version. Should I go back even farther? Is there a fix or a newer version app for the fire stick in the pipeline.

Thanks in advance
Server Version 4.51.1
Player Version: 8.13.2.23227

I recently noticed buffering on my Fire TV Stick as well. I’ve used Plex for years with this setup and everything worked fine. However, it seems like the last 2 weeks or so I’ve not been able to watch TV shows specifically because of all the buffering going on. Movies seem to do a bit better, but I can’t really be sure (I mostly watch TV shows).

I can watch the same show on my desktop browser and everything works perfectly. I’ve tried several things, including reducing the stream quality, but it doesn’t really seem to help.

The problem seems to have been triggered by one of the recent Plex updates. I’m currently on Plex v4.51.3 running on macOS 10.11.6.
