127.0.0.1:32400 is currently unavailable

Server Version#: 1.32.6.7557
Player Version#: HTPC 1.49.0

Since one of the updates to PMS and HTPC around July/August 2023, I haven’t been able to access my Plex library through Plex HTPC. Plex HTPC tells me that “127.0.0.1:32400 is currently unavailable” yet I can access my library via web browser if I go to 127.0.0.1:32400/web. However, when I click on the Plex icon in the menu bar and select “Open Plex” it takes me to a login page on Plex.tv, despite having authentication turned off for my local IP addresses. Plex HTPC was working fine before this update, I wish I made a note on which version was working and which broke it.

I’m using macOS Monterey 12.7

I only access Plex locally through my home network, I don’t login to a Plex account. It appears that there is once again a bug where authentication is turned on despite having my local IPs listed to not require authentication. Can we not have a simple toggle to turn authentication on/off or perhaps just have it so if you’re not logged in to an account, authentication is off, keep it simple.

An interesting note, if I just type 127.0.0.1:32400 in my web browser I get an error “This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.” It then just lists a bunch of XML code. Perhaps something is corrupt?

It looks like others are having a similar issue in this thread: Web Player cannot find server locally.

I think there’s something wrong with the HTPC client causing this.
When I list the clients through the Server’s API , i get 127.0.0.1 as the HTPC ip address, other clients show their real IP address.
