2 identical plex servers , same version, yet Home Video thumbnails are side ways on 1 of the servers

Both Server Version#: 1.40.0.7998 Windows

I’m having an issue that i can’t understand why is happening other than a bug, yet both my servers are the same version. So i have 2 homes with 2 different plex servers on windows. on 1 of the servers call it NC Plex all my home movies thumbnails are in portrait which is what they should be, see attached pic “working server.png” , then my other server call it AZ Plex any home movie file that is a movie filmed in portrait the thumbnail preview is sideways-landscape see attached pic “not working server.png” … i’ve tried all kinds of things within plex, so i decied on the server having the issue to just create a new Test Home Movies library with just 1 home movie file that was exhibiting the issue. still this totally new library with this 1 file still shows the same issue as in “not working server.png” … I’m at a loss what is going on here. basically all my media between the 2 servers i 100% identical i know because i copy the data from NC Plex drives to the AZ Plex drives… Both servers are the same plex version so what gives Plex why is this happening ? how do i fix this ?? is this a bug ?? Anyone any ideas why this is happening and how to fix this ? thanks

working server

UPDATE:

this was driving me crazy so i created a new Plex Windows media server on a VMware workstation virtual machine, installed it using the same 1.40.0.7998 windows server version. create a other video library with just this one same exact “IMG_088 (2).mov” file and guess what it has the same issue the thumbnail is landscape (sideways) !! So my NC Plex server , AZ plex server, and this new test server all are the same version, the only difference is NC Plex was installed/created YEARS ago and has been updated constantly over the years. AZ Plex server was created in 2023 and of course my test server in the VM was create “today”… So Plex what gives here ? can anyone help me determine a cause and fix this ? thanks

trying to keep this post alive, i mean it’s a real issue, is nobody else have or seen this before ?
