2nd SNL failed to record again (logs attached)

Server Version#:1.13.9.5456
Plex DVR indicated that it would record 2 NEW Saturday Night Live episodes tonight. Then after recording the first episode from 10-11PM eastern the 2nd episode which airs at 11:30PM eastern, disappeared from the recording schedule. Logs attached.Plex Media Server Logs_2018-11-17_23-35-24.zip (5.4 MB)

The first episode at 10PM was:
11/17/18—Steve Martin; Van Morrison
The second episode at 11:30PM was labeled:
S44·E6—Steve Carell; Ella Mai

And here is what it looked like in the recording schedule, before during and after 11:00 PM.mack2snlplan mack2snlinprog mack2snlthen1

Here is the error from Plex Media Server.log

Nov 17, 2018 23:11:02.827 [5520] DEBUG - DVR:Subscription: We found a match in the library for ‘Saturday Night Live - E6 - Steve Carell; Ella Mai’

At 23:11 (11:11PM) the episode with Steve Carell has not yet aired, but Plex thinks it has. Plex has incorrectly matched the 10:00PM recording (11/17/2018 - Steve Martin) from the library.

Mine tanked too. I saw it was recording when I went to bed, then this morning it wasn’t there. Then I got home tonight and 60 Minutes didn’t tape. Now my guide is completely empty. I see the EPG disclaimer, but this has been going on for days now. Very frustrating.

Same here. SNL didn’t record last night and there is no record of it in the recordings list. There are past recordings and some future ones but neither show recorded on Saturday!

thx for logs @DrSmith

Any update here? This is still a problem. Yesterday’s recording failed the same way, and I still can’t select the right time:

FWIW - I have been able to specify an 11:30PM limit to airing time for the past 2 weeks and have not had any problems. But since I didn’t update my Plex Server version, this just means that something changed in the EPG.

Sure would be nice to hear an official update from Plex.

Yeah, I can’t get the Limit to Airing Time dialog to show the right thing. Tried changing it to HD Only, tried updating Plex, refreshing guide, etc.

I did notice that when I limited it to the right channel (511, the only one available), both airings disappeared.

So something is very messed up as far as reading information from the guide, into that filter.

Updated to Version 1.14.1.5487. Same problems.

  1. Limit to channel causes no recordings to be scheduled.
  2. Only choice for limit to airing time is a time that the show doesn’t even air, and causes no recordings to be scheduled.

Still no response from Plex.

We are still looking into it.

I’m also having this issue, with the additional issue of the second episode not even showing up under recordings. I can see it under the Guide, but doesnt show in Recordings as it does for OP. The 10pm EST show does show up and record correctly (which stinks cause it’s always a rerun).

No updates from Plex. Still broken. Still frustrating.

Another month goes by. Still no response, aside from a one line post in December saying it was being looked into.
Any update on progress? It seems pretty easy to replicate… or is everyone else able to record SNL properly? Obviously there is something dumb with the EPG saying that the 1 hour re-runs are “new” because they are shorter… but the fact that the “select an airing time” is broken is really what is preventing the work-around.
C’mon Plex. At least acknowledge that paying users are having problems with your software. Please?

I also have had issues with Plex recording SNL Perhaps it is for the best, considering how bad SNL has been the last few years…but I digress.

I have had scheduled SNL recordings just disappear. They are scheduled to record, but they don’t. No errors, no evidence they were ever meant to be recorded. Future SNL shows are on the list to be recorded though.

Hi, 3/7/2019
My Plex was working, until a couple of weeks ago. Now, I can schedule recordings, they appear in the recordings list. Don’t record. I have had exceptions where I schedule a program that’s already in progress, that works. Or one shortly thereafter. I’ve deleted the DVR and recreated 3 times. Hope this helps

For weeks now, 2nd SNL doesn’t record.

As you can see series is selected. New, although the re-run at 10 isn’t new it says it’s new. The 11:30 show doesn’t record.
If I change “new airings only” to new and repeat arings, I get the new airing. If I leave it at new airings only" I only get the repeat airing. Something is flipped.

SNL hasn’t recorded for me for 2 weeks. Didn’t do it again last night. At least now it doesn’t show anything coming up that will be recorded—but that is wrong. If you go into the Channel listings to next Saturday, SNL shows that it will be recorded (but it won’t).

I switched the program to record all instead of just new episodes so now it is showing future episodes will be recorded in the “Recordings” screen.

What is the deal with this??? This has been an on again-off again issue for over a year now! Is it really that difficult to get this program to simply record when it is supposed to??? WMC and Tivo don’t seem to have these issues and they have been around how long?

I have Plex (windows) set to record SNL, Old and New. And it records both, However, from Plex, I see the New episode tag, (Adam Sandler), but the episode is Chris Hemsworth Zac Brown from 2015. So, the tag info is incorrect. The 10:00 showing is listed as the 11:30 episode, Adam Sandler. Plex started recording at 10:00 The hockey game went over to 10:42. Plex recorded the first and second SNL’s, but only labled as 1, the first was mis-labled as the 2nd.
Although the Icon has a “2” at the top left corner, for 2 episodes, from Plex, plays only the first episode, incorrectly labled with the 2nd episode meta info. In file manager, under recordings, they’re both there. So I can play the thing from Media Player, but not Plex.

Well, another week with SNL not being recorded. It always shows up that it is supposed to be recorded…but it doesn’t. Looking at the recordings, there is no record that it even bothered to try. No errors.
