I’m in Los Angeles. SNL airs at 11:29 in this market. I set my DVR to record only new airings. The first episode of the season recorded with no problems - however subsequent shows are not recording at all. Today (Nov 4th) I changed to record “new and repeat” airings - hoping that will help - first of all, I shouldn’t have to do this. SNL shows up in the “to be recorded” but when the time comes, it fails to record. Has anybody had any luck in recording this show? It shouldn’t be this hard.
I’ve posted on a similar thread. Do you know how to browse your actual media folders? I’m interested to see if you’re having the same problem I’m having. DVR is recording it, the .ts file exists, but for whatever reason the library scan doesn’t add it to the front end.

Plex support and employees have never commented AFAIK. I guess they would like to blame the program guide for declaring the first 10pm episode as NEW when it is really an abridged rerun.
The DVR should be able to record them both regardless of EPG designation. But just like you saw, my Plex didn’t record anything at all for the 11:30 show.
Ugh… wrote a response then discovered that the “abridged” episode airs here on the west coast at 20:30. So apparently, Plex or the EPG considers both as “New” - but that doesn’t answer why for me it didn’t record anything. Perhaps Plex gets screwed up when there are two “NEW” episodes of the same show on the same day - I have no idea. What I’ll try to do is to tell plex to record “ALL” episodes and then go into advanced settings and select the 23:30 showing only. Hopefully, that will work.

Good luck. I’ve tried “record new” and “record all” with no success. I have even manually deleted the early episode right after it records, but the later episode still fails to record every time.
The only time this worked in 2018 was once back in October when the guide correctly labeled the earlier episode as a rerun. (It also works, of course, when NBC does not even air an early episode. And it briefly worked last season 2017, recording both.)
Yeah, this could easily be fixed if they fixed the option to record a specific airing time, but… they haven’t even acknowledged it is broken.
I don’t get how this has been going on apparently for over a year and no one from Plex (or the Ninjas) have even bothered to acknowledge. I’m going to create another record and report that “recording at a specific time is broken”. Maybe that will get someones attention. This obviously isn’t hard to reproduce, many people have reporting the issue but for some reason it is being ignored.

Mine at least records. I can see the .ts file in the folder on my media server, but Plex doesn’t choose to load it to the front end. Even when I navigate all folders in my TV Shows folder, it says, “It appears there is nothing here.” even though it is.
I’m still having this same issue with recording SNL. New and repeat airings doesn’t seem to fix it for me. Selecting the specific recording time doesn’t seem to fix it either. The guide shows the 10pm and 11:30pm airings as both being recorded. The recording schedule view shows neither of them being recorded…
