Hello. I would like to share my problem regarding playing 4k video. The plex server is installed on a NAS synology DS920+ which has upgraded RAM to 20GB, everything is on a 1Gb/s ethernet cable. The plex client is installed on Nvidia Shield also on a 1Gb cable. Plex has a Premium subscription purchased, so all options are unlocked. Plex server and client has newest versions. However, I have a problem with playing 4k video with a bitrate above 40/50 mb/s. It keeps buffering and interrupting. I have tried several options found on the Internet, but with the same result. Are there any other possibilities to solve this problem? I am not an advanced user, so please be understanding. I apologize in advance, this topic has been discussed before. Thank you
How long you have the Problem?
Maybe your Router isn’t set to LAN 1GB?
Maybe the cables are causing a problem, unplug the cable, clean it and plug it back in.
Sometimes the system set the cable from 1Gbit to 100mbit.
Do you use Cat6 cable or maybe the old Cat5E?
Actual PMS Server have problem,
Also there are two version for Synology, DSM7.0 and DSM 7.2.2 with some problems.

Thanks for reply not sure how long. 90% files its not bigger than 50gb and bitrate less than 30mb/s only I have problem when I try play video with 40-60 mb/s bitrate everything else working fine. I did speed test on my nvidia shield its 900mb/s so I think cable and connection not makes any problems
I’ll try that way and I let you know Thanks
And this is really a speed test, between Shield and Synology?
To me it looks more like this is just the up and download from fiber optic or cable internet.
There must be a blockage in the line somewhere, because the symptoms indicate that the gigabit line is being throttled to 100Mbit and therefore only the films with a low Mbit can actually go through without jerking.
I wish you will find the problem.
