A complete novice and need HELP please..? Re Media Server

Hello.

Sincerely hope someone can help me. I’ll be honest I’m not that good when it comes to these forums, so I apologies if I’m in the wrong area.

I have installed the PLEX MEDIA SERVER and also the player. Unfortunately I can’t access the server? It says oops, you don’t seem to be allowed access, or something similar. As yet I’ve not been able to view my media content via Plex. I’ve tried logging out and in again, deleting the apps and starting again, but still no joy.

If someone can help, can you give me the tasks in idiot guide please?

Have signed in your server with your Plex user after installation? Is your server visible via: https://app.plex.tv/web/app#?
Is the server and client on the same machine?

Same machine. I’m signed in, but when I look at the users section there is a X on the corner of the app, device I am using.

Ok, in browser go to server_ip:32400/web, then right top settings, the server, sign in.

I’ve tried to locate the server settings page, but can’t seem to find it?
