I have everything in the proper format (TV series name - S01E01), and almost all my tv shows are working perfectly. However, there are a couple from two shows that have a few missing episodes, despite being in the same format as everything else. So I have some questions:
How do I fix this? (obviously)
How do I do a deep scan or forced scan? (I tried right clicking on the reload button but nothing happens)
Is there a way to reset or remove just a particular season of a tv series?
Is this thread still active? I'm having a very similar problem. Plex scans and goes through my media fine... but then I look and on some shows it only displays the first season, all the other seasons don't show up. I can remove the entire show, add it back to plex and the same thing happens again. While it's scanning I see it has found the other seasons but when it's done, they are gone.
I had exactly the same problem with the last 5 episodes of the first series of Game of Thrones (though I doubt which TV series makes much difference).
I tried every sort of refresh and despite the last five episodes being in the same folder as the others and using the same naming convention, they would not be added to the library.
The fix was simple (though I don’t know why necessary): just move the entire folder for the particular TV show somewhere outside the library, do a refresh, empty the trash, move the folder back again and refresh again. Behold – all episodes appear in library… at least, they did for me.
Also, I’d recommend the latest beta (0.9.6.5) as it’s scanning and meta data retrieval seem to be much better than previous versions.
Are you using PMS version 0.9.6.5? I had this problem with 0.9.6.4 and I had to remove the offending TV shows completely after upgrading and then do a deep scan. Everything that 0.9.6.4 missed was then picked up and identified correctly with 0.9.6.5.
Doing a deep scan usually solves the problem but I can't understand why i should suddenly have to resort to that when the automatic scan on changed folders is enabled and used to work.
Logs attached. I've shortened the scanner log to show just the folder where scan isn't picking up new ep today (ep 3 season 4 warehouse13). This is after a normal scan, not a deep one.
the episode is showing up in the log but isn't added to the library for some reason.
Agents seem to be on. They're in the following order
TV SHOWS:
Personal media shows
- Local Media Assets ON
- Personal media shows ON
- opensubtitles ON
- plex theme music OFF
- thetvdb OFF
- tvrage OFF
TheTVDB
- Local media assets ON
- TheTVDB ON
- Plex theme music ON
- opensubtitles ON
- personal media shows OFF
- TVRage OFF
Thanks for your help.
btw, i know this is the windows board but i actually am on Mac OS X Lion. Just didn't want to start another thread on same subject somewhere else.
I’m having the same issue… Star Balzers DVD set was ripped to file format today… yes I own both. but I put the 6 files but only 4 scan in as a TV show episode. file that 1-5 and 6-9 refuse to show on the list . HOwever, if I put it in a library as a video, they all show up but I shouldn’t have to do that. I just got the software today so I know i’m up on the latest version of plex.
I went into the info and I see how it refers to the files for the season but it won’t let me add files to the seasons. Why it doesn’t pick up the other files is beyond me
(FIXED)
OK so i finally found the problem,
In the folder the show is coming from make sure that the first 9 episodes are labeled 01, 02, 03 etc instead of just 1, 2, 3 etc.
For example if you have game of thrones s01e01 then that will work while game of thrones s1e1 wont work.
This problem only seemed to occur with seasons that had more then 10 episodes in them and the first 9 didnt have the 0 before the episode number.
So put that 0 in and i hope it works for ye.

Is it also works with anime? Some of my anime with more than 10 episodes gone missing, it starts like 1,2,3…10,11,12 that goes. so the naming of the file is the reason? as an example, is this correct? Akiba’s Trip - S01E10. correct me if i wrong. thanks anyways
