Access media server settings without internet

We are experiencing an extended internet outage due to weather. I was able to access my Plex server on my local network in the past. A few searches here shows how to give specific IP addresses access to the server but for that I need to be able to access the server settings. When I try to open the server on the machine it is running it gives and error stating plex.tv is is not reachable.

Clearly it won’t be able to connect as I don’t have internet but why do I need internet to access a server locally?

Did this happen as a change?

Did I somehow make this happen by opting into Plex Home? If so, please help me to fix this as I would like to be able to access my Plex server locally when the internet is out.

I have plenty of content I cannot get to even though it is stored locally, this is the main reason I got Plex Pass all those years ago

Usually need to do this before you loose internet, also doesn’t work for tv’s with built in clients.

Thank you. I also just found the post you linked through another search. This is a bummer. It’s -7 outside and I suspect my internet will be out for a while. I will have to spend the time making these changes for any future outages.
