So we had a idiot that left his dump truck in the up position and took out the power lines as well as internet lines. Ididnt lose power but did lose internet, being board without cable told my wife I have a perfect solution. I have over 400 movies saved on my server which is connected to most devices via Ethernet cable to include my bedroom tv. So I go to plex and it cant access any content on my home network. With internet working no issues, but this is my private home network where I could access server and other wifi or hard wired devices without internet. Am I missing a setting for it to be able to work without internet? Was not looking to watch streaming movies just saved movies.
Go to Settings, under the settings category select network. Find the LAN Networks section and fill out your IP/Network mask (e.g. 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0) then save changes at the bottom.
This should allow any device on your local LAN to communicate without authentication - the main reason PLEX uses the internet in this instance.

I have the same problem here, and i have also tried this approach, no luck… as my Plex on TV logs out and asks to re sign-in.
There’s a little more to it, and it may not even be possible depending on what kind of client you’re using
Dude, this is amazing, appreciate the detailed explanation, although I have tried most of the resolution mentioned, it wont hurt to go through them again step by step.
My Setup is fairly simple, Synology NAS with PMS installed on it, connected to a netgear router via ethernet, also connected to the router is my SamsungTV running Tizen OS which has the Plex App. I was able to play media with no internet in the past, but after software updates (that’s the only logical reason i could think of, as i have not changed any settings for ages) it stopped.
Really. Same issue with LG Plex app. But if I use a browser on my TV, then plex works fine without internet connection (LAN only)
