No access to Plex from Plex server

I can’t access my Plex server from the windows box it is running on (or anywhere else)

This normally works fine but I am currently suffering an internet outage and this appears to be the cause. However previously when this has happened I have been able to connect to the server and stream to devices on local network.

Right now attempts to reach localhost:32400/web from the server on which Plex is running just states ‘Plex is not reachable’- ‘we are unable to connect to Plex.tv at this time.’ Which is obviously true as I have no external internet access but I don’t see why this should stop me getting to my server from the host on which it is running

I’m not sure which version I am running but I doubt it is over a month old.

Apps like Plex player, Plex Dash, Plex amp all fail to connect from all devices as well even though my local network is not impacted by the loss of internet.

Any assistance appreciated - I really want access to my media more than ever right now given I can’t stream from the internet.

Have a look at this thread in the tips & tricks section.

Thanks. I had followed these to get it working when I lost internet previously and as far as I am aware nothing should have changed since. I’ll go through my preferences file and double check though.

I feel really silly but I can’t find the preferences file. I have been through the local app data folder and the media server install location but not found anything. Where does configuration live on windows?

Note - previously when I have lost internet I have not lost access to Plex via the web uk from local host so I was still able to configure it through that.

Most Windows preferences aren’t stored in files but reside inside the Registry.
Make sure to stop the PMS before doing any changes to the registry!

Thanks again - I hoped registry settings were a thing of the past, although I’d probably say the same about xml files…

I checked through the registry and everything was set as expected with AllowedNetworks set to my home network range and secure connections preferred rather than enforced.

I restarted and still had no access on 127.0.0.1 or localhost but I realised that using the server ip would let me reach the web ui.

I now need to work out why nothing else on my network is reaching it as it looks like nothing has changes since my last outage during which time I could stream with no issues - bizarrely Plex reports that it is ‘fully accessible outside your network’ despite there being no internet here!

Hmm odd I can now connect to it. I wonder if simply restarting it had an effect

Thanks for the assistance
