Google has actually made major changes over the last 1–2 years to simplify AAOS app development. Google now allows developers to publish car-optimized apps directly to AAOS via the Play Store, just like mobile apps, with automotive-specific categories like navigation, media, car-control, video, messaging etc.

Google opened the Play Store to AAOS apps
Google provided UI templates
Google standardized APIs
Google improved simulators
Google clarified safety requirements
Many users may not come to the forum to express it, but there is definitely a real need for this.
+1, would love to see this as well. More and more car manufacturers have announced their deal with AAOS lately, most recently KIA will have it in all new models beyond 2026 and the list keeps growing each month it seems so i think Plex would be a good condition to offer a good music experiance in the car.
