Demand is definitely here, and the number of auto manufacturers releasing cars on the AAOS platform just keeps increasing.
I would assume it will help, but we won’t know until we have the time to check it out.

+1 I just got my Polestar 2 and would kill for PlexAmp to be available directly on the cars infotainment
+1. I just got a new car that has Android Automotive but no support for Android Auto or CarPlay. PlexAmp in the infotainment is the main thing I’m missing right now, it’s much less convenient to go through my phone to play media from Plex.
While it would be lower priority, Android Automotive does allow for video playback while parked. That would be awesome for a proper Plex video app.
Hi Elan, Thanks for your replies on the forum. Do you have any updates on Google’s “Car Ready Mobile Apps” program? Do you think it could help speed up the process of getting Plex/Plexamp (with Plexamp the higher priority) available anytime soon? I hope this program helps bring down the cost of adapting apps for Android Automotive to a more reasonable level, making it easier to justify the effort. Demand also seems to be gaining momentum, especially with more new cars, including more mid-range models, launching with Android Automotive.

While I’m still able to use Plexamp through Android Auto on AAOS in my new Captur hybrid, my wife is limited to AAOS only in her new EX30.
A native app would be wonderfull.

I was disappointed when my vehicle didn’t support Android Auto and only AAOS. I really hope there is support for Plexamp soon. How much longer until we can expect some good news?
Electric Renaults now come with AAOS and confusingly support AA in a tab on AAOS. It would be really good to have native Plexamp on AAOS as I’m sure more cars will go for it.
As a Lifetime Plex Pass holder, I am aware this is new ground you’re breaking and I would be willing to pay a one-off upgrade to get this. I know this is a controversial topic for many lifetime pass holders, but it’s a whole new device segment.

Hopefully the devs can find some time to make this happen because these AAOS cars are only going to get more common with so many brands moving that direction Volvo, Chevy, Hyundai, Kia, and im sure more
