This feature really is a cornerstone of my Plex Usage. Please bring it back to all devices!
And here I was thinking that the Plex developers would add a “listen together” feature. HA! What a joke!
The plex team is so out of touch with their audience its scary piling on garbage features while removing features ppl love, this is a sinking ship and i think its beacuse the plexteam wants it to sink.
I use this feature everyday because me and gf are thousands of miles apart from each other and it a great way for us to enjoy TV & movie together. Please bring it back for the new experience.
If watch together dies, I’m done with PLEX, and will recommend against PLEX to anyone who will listen. Your company seems committed to ignoring your core customer base to the benefit of no one. Stop ignoring the people most motivated to be your consumer evangelists.
Yeah watch together is the only reason I’m still using plex compared to the other alternatives. I’m disappointed in this decision tremendously, and will leave the plex ecosystem if the feature dies.
Looks like this is now the 3rd most voted for feature, and it only took 5 months to get there. I really hope the Plex developers realize that a lot of us really want this back. I still make use of it a few times a week, and have turned off automatic updates on my AppleTV to preserve it as long as possible.
Watch Together is something I use every night to watch content with my family. I would even be OK if it was scaled back to only be accessible through PlexPass and/or within the same Plex Home account/subaccounts… as long as it’s still a feature within Plex and not entirely removed. I’m going to have to pin my mom’s Plex Roku version to the release that still has watch together and just never update it until this gets re-added into the New Plex Experience.
Being forced to countdown “Three, two one, PLAY” seems so antiquated after utilizing watch together quite literally every day for the last few years!
I’ve used Watch Together so many times, and it didn’t even occur to me that each viewer could select different audio/subtitle tracks. Amazing use case, hopefully they bring Watch Together back
When folks are sick and don’t want to communicable-atize the bug to others, Plex’s Watch Together is there.
Please consider keeping it for our health ![]()
Great job Plex team, thank you!
Please bring Watch Together back.
SyncPlay doesn’t work across all jellyfin clients though (yet) and it’s janky and skittery at best until they get more volunteers. Watch Together just always… worked, and in the way each side needed it to (with different subtitle streams, audio streams, qualities, list goes on). It’s truly unbelievable that Plex decided to just get rid of the thing that made them most unique (but not that unbelievable when you consider the investors need even more money).
Please bring back this feature, it’s one of the best features of watching with someone else.
I’ll just leave this here
Except that @McWanke has said similar in the past like in 2023 on Allow Watch Together For TV Shows // mod: more than 1 episode at a time - #53 by Quafley :
Roku client just got updated to “New Experience” today… and now I can no longer use watch together (which I have used nightly since it first came out with my family). Having to revert back to “OK, 3, 2, 1, GO” really sucks. This is one of the greatest features of the Plex product and should be put back into the dev queue sooner than later. Please with a 2 sync’d video player cherries on top?
i am over seas for work and for it to no longer be available so that i can watch movies with my family back home really sucks. is a great feature to have.
Please bring this back. Really miss this feature.
So not only was watch together removed screen sharing in messenger and whatsapp is broken as well it crashes the app. I understand you desire to change things in the app but this is an important feature for couples that are in long distance relationships. Is there a poll to field peoples desires to have this feature added back? Can we have an old installation so some can still maintain the feature? I see alot of people complaints about the new UI as well. I understand that after a set point in time that the customers that purchased the lifetime pass is no longer generating income for you but to make yourself more marketable for new user base removing features that set you a part from other solutions is not the way to achieve this. Don’t get me wrong I love plex but I also know that developers go rogue and do not always understand customer based changes that impact their experience
