We ran the Plex update and now Plex is not updating the library. We added a new movie to our Synology drive and Plex did not find it and then I deleted an older movie and again Plex did not change the library and still shows that movie.
Probably need to inspect the Plex Media Scanner.log. I’m assuming the library directory is mounted on your Mac.
Ok, sorry I got really busy. The library directory is on our Synology drive. So we ran another update for Plex this morning to see that that helped. Nope. Now none of the movies or tv show will play. We just get the yellow dots.
yeah I know but is the drive/directory actually mounted on your mac or did you just enter the network path to it.
It is network. Everything is on the Synology drive.
What the title name and year. How have you Named the folder and File
Not sure what you are asking. Synology DS215j. DSM 6.2.3-25426 Update 1 (I can’t get Update 2 to download/install yet). Plex Media Server Version 1.19.5.3112-b23ab3896 running on Synology and everything points back to that. As to how the movie file was named, the same naming format that I have used for the last 3-4 years for adding files to this library so why it suddenly won’t work now is the question. My husband is trying to get this last Synology update to run (DSM 6.2.3-25426 Update 2) and then restart the whole system to see if that might help set things right.
Additionally now we are getting a “this server is not powerful enough to convert video” when trying to test a movie that has been in our library for years. Something is not adding up.
I don’t mean to be smug, but I asked your Naming of folder and file as Plex has changed. What worked yesterday may mean nothing today. I don’t understand why so many forum members who ask for help, answer with there own hypothesis. Not being smart, but can I see how the file is named.
There are many reasons a file will not be recognized, naming is just one which can be the issue.
