I have a movie in the format ABC (2021).mov in my movies folder. I found a related movie that is not in any of the movie db sites called ABC Behind the Scenes.mp4 and added it to the same movie folder. ABC (2021) shows up in Plex, ABC Behind the Scenes does not. Does Plex need a real movie name to add it to itself? I don’t care about any metadata.
If you have a movie that doesn’t exists and can’t be matched, PMS may end up matching it to something that does exist with a similar name. If you place these files in their own folder, PMS may think they are different versions of the same movie and merge them together. You can split these apart then that other video will be on it’s own. You’ll then need to match it using the “Personal Media Agent” so it won’t try to match to a database and just leave it alone.
