When trying to add a friend via email when they click the “i accept the invitation” link they get an error saying Hmm, an invite error…
Sorry, an error happened when accepting the invitation.
I have tested this with my other email address and get the same result.
I see you are in the Plex Cloud Beta program. Did you try sharing the Plex Cloud server with them? Plex Cloud shuts down when it’s not being used, so if your friend tries to accept through email when Plex Cloud is in this off state, you get that error. Instead, have them sign into Plex.tv, hit launch, then accept the invitation from there.
Sorry I don’t quite understand, how do I share via the Plex Cloud server? When I go through the process It just shows my server and libraries. Thanks
You share the same way you would any other server. I think you’ve done it correctly. The difference I was trying to explain, badly, is on your friend’s end. Instead of accepting the invite by clicking on the email, instead have them go to plex.tv and sign in. Then launch the Plex Web. Go to Settings \ Users and they should see the invite there. Accept it by clicking on the green check mark.
