Adding new series 1883

Server Version#:4.66.1
Player Version#: web interface

It’s taken me about 50 tries to get the new tv series 1883 to my tv library. I have many other series with names that are numbers, I have exactly 294 tv series spread across several nas devices.
Today, suddenly, the series popped up, has correct graphic and description…but! I have two episodes and only one appears. The second series file is in the same directory as the first but no matter what I do it will not show up in the series.
Something’s fishy, or rotten in Denmark, or something. Got me flustered and frustrated and fuming and fussing. Please advise.

Nope

Please share a screen shot of your files, from the root of the TV library, and all the way down to the actual medias

Also tell us what primary agent you are using for your TV library (Old legacy, or new native one)

I added the first three eps of 1883 this morning, and it loaded up fine. I’m using the new Plex agents.

Plex DocumentationYour MediaNaming & Organizing Your TV Show Files

Standard Plex naming works on my system. I’m using the new agent, which supports adding the tvdb/tmdb id to the folder name.

Show_Name (year) {tvdb-12345}/Season XX/Show_Name (year) - sXXeYY - episode_title.ext

Well, here’s the tree:
\igor5\Multimedia\TV\1883\Season 01\

1883 (2021) S01E01 1883.mkv
1883 (2021) S01E02 Behind Us, A Cliff.mkv

igor5 is a nas
Multimedia contains all libs (on that nas)
TV contains all tv series
etc.

Did all the agent stuff, I think.
Moved lib to a different nas
etc.
Episode 2 never shows

You should, as @FordGuy61 mentioned, add year and id to the show folder!

Also note, that if Igor5 is a QNAP, then you did put your medias in a bad place
Ref: Qnap faq.....read me first! Q14

Thanks for that, I’ve never had to do that to any episode before (and it isn’t in the filename of the first episode which does show up) … and where should I have found out how to do this?
– Where do I find the IMDB id? and does it have to be in braces?
– Interesting about QNAP, I have 5 nas boxes and 4 are QNAP and I’ve been using them with Plex for over six years with no problems.
I may have completely formatted all drives when I installed and have them all set with RAID backup.

It’s in the directory name for the Show, not in the actual filename

In the link that @FordGuy61 posted

It’s not the imdb id, but the tmdb id, and yes, it has to be exactly as I typed

You find the ID here when looking at the URL after a search:

The Multimedia share is a default share, that QNAP QTS create
I always recommend creating a share of your own, and name it like medias or videos or siml, and then below that create a directory named shows and one named movies
Then go from there

I did manage to find the TVDB id all by myself. Shows progress and aptitude :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Plex picked up those episodes without issue in that folder structure. No year or id.

New Plex agent.

I’ve only ever had to use media id once in many years.

OK, uncle, I give up. I’ve seen references to the ‘new’ plex agent. I don’t know what that means. I’ve gone to Settings/Agents and to the library setup Advanced and am confused (constantly) what ‘new’ means.
Sorry for all this, in years of Plex usage, dozens of libraries, thousands of files, and 38 years of working in the computer industry, I still find myself puzzled by simple things.

Thanks Otto that’s a big help.
