After Changin passwort and activation MFA, my Plex Server will not shown

mailgo, I also have a synology. Could you pls tell me exactly where to find the “PlexMediaServer” folder that i should delete? Is this on the Synology or my pc i am using to access it?

I just changed password and checked “sign out all accounts” but did not enable MFA, now none of my HUUUUGE library is showing, all missing! It wants me to redownload my server, which I restarted but to no avail, what an epic FAIL!

It says “sign out all devices”. Your server is also one of those devices.
You now need to restore access to it.
The second half of this article tries to explain it: https://support.plex.tv/articles/account-requires-password-reset/

You will find your Plex folder on your Synology, where the Plex Server is running.
You may not delete the folder,

You can try this:

  1. Stop Plex Server on the NAS
  2. backup the file preferences.xml and then delete it in the Plex directory
  3. DO NOT delete the Plex directory !
  4. uninstall Plex Server on the NAS
  5. reinstall Plex Server on the NAS (it should be started)
  6. Open the website from the Plex icon on the NAS and login again
  7. Go through the steps and then at the point of media libraries you should see your previous libraries.
  8. Reorder the display
  9. If necessary, set the remote access again, because if a port forwarding was set up, it is no longer correct.

If this not work, stop Plex Server on your Synology, uninstall it, delete the Plex Server and reinstall your Plex Server on your Synplogy.

Keep in mind: You have to set up everything again, all settings are gone. Everything is marked as “not seen”.

MFA must be activated in your Plex account settings on plex.tv.
Under change your passwort

why must MFA now be enabled? isn’t it an option? according to the plex email alert that went out it is not required

I am signed in but there is no option to reclaim the server.

Sorry  must be activated, if you will use it

Windows Server? NAS? Synology, Qnap, what ever…

Windows Server Version#: 4.89.1
Player Version#: N/A - URL/web interface with server
resigning in still affords no option to reclaim server.

Thanks for your replay. I’ll look for that folder to follow your instructions.

I found an obscure option under the server icon to seek an update and this refreshed my ability to reset homescreen customization. Now the ‘claim server’ option is available and is apparently syncing…

Libraries are now restored; however, now my dashboard will not show detailed data but wants me to purchase a plex pass. I am a lifetime Plex Pass holder and the account tab correctly shows this…

Anyway to do this Server reclaim not on local IP?
I am away and this damn breach email came so changed my password and now locked out of my server.
It is running on a Synology nas with ddns address access.

If I go via the address in Web it briefly shows the library such as films and TV then goes unavailable.

Establish a tunnel into the server machine. If Plex server is running in a VM or container, establish a tunnel into the container.

Explained in the second half of this article: https://support.plex.tv/articles/account-requires-password-reset/ (scroll down to “From Different Network” )

It’s running native app, I’ll save the post and have a look when I get chance to get my Surface tablet out.
Driving 2 days for holiday and didn’t expect this issue.

I only changed my Plex password last week and no issues with access but thought to be safe than sorry and didn’t expect this balls up.

Thanks for the pointer.

First of all…on my player on my pc I removed the server from the list thinking I could then simply reset it up. However, when I select settings I go no library options…noithing that says add a server or add a liubrary. Very few of the tools which are to be in the left column of the settings page. and it is still like that even after completing steps 1-6 above as suggested. It seems as though you need a programming degree to be able to figure out and then execute a;ll of this stuff. I have no clue what to do next.

I did the same thing and is stuck with a Asustor that is not unable to go into the settings anymore via its IP. Tried deleting the whole folder, reinstalling etc from the app store. It just shows as blank.

I’m screwed. Have no idea what most of it is that you guys area speaking aBOUT. I can get around and did several of the steps suggested but with no luck. I no longer have any servers that show up on my pc app or when I open Plex Server from my Synology NAS. Nothing is there and there’s nothing that prompts or allows me to setup a server or link libraries…nothing. Excpet on the left it will say somewthing like “Your Media” and when I slect it a screen pops up and says I need a server and provides a link to the download page.

Do you think that Plex will ever get this situated so we can easily fix this sh#*t they messed up??!

Where the hell is it? I’ve wasted hours trying to solve this problem created by Plex themselves.
